Dental Implants

One of the most significant innovations in restorative dentistry has been the development of dental implants. Missing teeth and loose dentures can have a significant effect on your oral health as well as your ability to eat, talk and your aesthetic appearance. Dental Implants may be the solution to creating the beautiful smile you desire.

What is an implant?

A dental implant is a small titanium screw that is attached to the jawbone to create an artificial tooth ‘root’. Titanium is biocompatible and safe; bone cells will grow and permanently integrate with the implant to provide a secure foundation to affix a crown. Once the implant is firmly in place a crown is perfectly developed and coloured to match your existing teeth. It is then attached to the implant giving a natural solution to your smile.

These natural looking fixed solutions are used to replace missing teeth or providing the much needed support a denture needs in certain cases. If you’re situated in the Hawthorn, Kew or Richmond area, our professionals can provide you with gentle, supportive care to help you better understand the benefits of dental implants.

Am I a candidate?

In order to be a suitable candidate for a dental implant, you must be in good oral and general health. You will need to have sufficient jawbone density and volume to support your implant. Like any major denture procedures, a lot of careful planning is required prior commencing the treatment. With our in-house 3 D imaging system available at our finger tips, our dentists are able to provide detailed assessment of your condition without much time delay. We can then show you our findings and discuss the necessary steps required to achieving the desired smile.

Discuss your orthodontic and dental queries with our friendly staff next time you visit or over the phone. We are conveniently located in Richmond, close to Kew and Hawthorn areas. Each of our team members are here to help you and give you the necessary information to help you feel confident and look your best every day.
